Under the NHS Pharmacy First scheme, our pharmacists can assess and treat seven common conditions on the spot, including supplying prescription medicines where clinically appropriate. The consultation is free.
Earache
Sudden ear pain or infection, assessed in branch with an otoscope. Common in children, we treat it or refer you quickly if needed.
Impetigo
Golden, crusty patches around the nose and mouth that spread easily on contact. We can assess and treat it the same day.
Shingles
A painful, blistering rash on one side of the body. Treatment works best started early, so do not wait to get it looked at.
Insect Bites
Bites or stings that have turned red, hot, swollen or weepy, a sign they may be infected. We will assess and treat where needed.
Sore Throat
Painful, scratchy swallowing with a red or swollen throat. We check whether it needs treatment or simply time and self-care.
UTIs in Women
Burning, urgency and discomfort when passing urine. Women aged 16 to 64 can be assessed and treated same-day where appropriate.
Sinusitis
Facial pressure, congestion and headache that linger after a cold. We advise on relief and treat it if it is not clearing.
